Being On Holidays In Amazing Agios Nikolaos

The most famous beach near Agios Nikolaos is of course the cosmopolitan Elounda, the ancient Olous. It is an amazing beach, but it is not the only one. Plaka, Driros, Kitroplateia and Ammos, in Agios Nikolaos, Ammoudara, the amazing Gournia, are among the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean. luxury resorts crete It is not just that the visitor will enjoy the salt, playful pebbles, hidden diamonds, but also that the landscape and the waters that surround Agios Nikolaos are simply impossible to describe.

The fact that one can see such an exotic landscape as the beach in Vai, not going down to Africa for example, is unbelievable. It is the largest palm forest in Europe, which according to legend was created by Arab pirates, who ate dates and left their seeds. It is a shocking landscape, of great harmony and beauty, somewhat unreal when someone faces its beauty and realises that he is in Greece. Moreover, Kalydon was in antiquity the name of Spinalonga, whose current Venetian name means "long thorn". Apart from the well-known story with the excluded patients, the ancient Kalydon is a magical place in the bay of Elounda, in which prominent Minoan priests once officiated.

Finally, the Archaeological Museum of Agios Nikolaos maintains and exhibits a vast treasure from the Minoan Crete. There, the visitor can see over 1,600 finds from the Agia Fotia Cemetery, located near Sitia. It is a prehistoric cemetery, the largest that has been excavated in Crete.

Discover Amazing Eretria And Amarynthos

In Eretria time is never enough to enjoy the beauties that lie around. After sightseeing in the center of the city, one should cross the bridge to find themselves on the Island of Dreams, and experience the temperature of the waters or just relax on the beach, which stretches for almost three kilometers - with only one part of it organized. The visitor only needs to be careful to choose the right side, as the beach is divided in two, with one part of it, the one that "sees" the side of the ferry boats, is clearly less clean than the other.evia hotels

Just outside Eretria, on the road to Aliveri, Amarynthos is ideal for walks on the beach and relaxing walks. Despite being famous mainly for its picturesque taverns and seafood delicacies, the picturesque town that the locals call Vathia has much more to offer the visitor: sights such as the Byzantine Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation, the well-kept Folklore Museum and Macedonian tomb of the Hellenistic period at Vlychos, but also natural beauties, such as the plateau of Skotini, ideal for trekking and mountain biking, and the beautiful villages of the area - Ano Vathia, Gymnos and Setta, where the recently discovered cave is located - are worth as much time as you can dedicate to them. Aliveri is amphitheatrically built on the hill, with its port, Karavos, offered for food and coffee by the sea. It is an ideal base for visits to the surrounding villages that, hidden from prying eyes, keep the traditional architecture intact and their natural beauty.

Akti Koundourioti is one of the most well known parts of Chania. It only takes a walk to discover all the traditional souvenir shops and the little taverns. At Akti Tombazi one can  find the Kucuk Hassan Mosque (Yali Mosque or Seaside Mosque), which nowadays is also a cultural center and houses various exhibitions, free of charge. It is worth visiting to get a taste of culture and the local artistic mood. Walking on the Tombazi Coast, on the way to the lighthouse, the visitor will pass in front of the small marina with its beautiful boats, the large Katehaki square and the Mikis Theodorakis Theater, until they reach in front of the Venetian Neoria, the Venetian shipyards and later warehouses of the Ottomans, built in the 16th century. Neoria is also known as Arsenalia or Tarsanades, since they changed their name depending on the conquerors. Of the 23 total Neoria that were built, along the entire length of the Coast of Chania, today only 7 survive. With a length of 50 meters each and their vaulted entrance were impressive buildings of their time.

Explore Amazing Mykonos' Beaches With A Yacht

The story of Mykonos is a very interesting one. The island of the Winds is considered to be one of the most well known and pretty islands in the region of the Aegean and the Mediterranean as well. Even though the cause of its popularity is the wild nightlife and the celebrities that one can run into on Mykonos, still the island has a lot more to offer than just the obvious. If someone wanders around, they will easily discover a place of amazing natural beauty. yacht rental greece Some of the most amazing beaches in Greece can be found on this island.

One of the least known beaches, which however is characterized by great beauty, is the one of Loulos. This beach is a rather quiet place that only a few people tend to visit. It has high cliffs that are offered for diving and the water is crystal clear blue, characteristic of the Cycladic landscape. The beach is not an organized one, in contrast to the majority of the beaches on the island, while the nearest store to get everything is in Kalo Livadi. Another beach is the Myrsini beach, which is placed next to Fokos beach. This one  is divided into two smaller beaches by a small section of rocks that reaches the sea. In order to get there one has to ride on a relatively good road with cement. Finally, Merchia beach is located 8 km away from Ano Mera.
