Λόγω της αυστηρής ελληνικής νομοθεσίας που προστατεύει τους αρχαιολογικούς χώρους και τα τεχνουργήματα, τα σχέδια ανακαίνισης τροποποιήθηκαν για την προστασία των ερειπίων. Τα νέα σχέδια προέβλεπαν την τοποθέτηση προστατευτικών φραγμών γύρω από την κατασκευή (τόσο υπόγεια όσο και υπέργεια) με ενισχυμένο γυάλινο δάπεδο ώστε να μπορεί κανείς να τα θαυμάσει από το δρόμο.
